Alfstock is held in memory of Alfie Bartlam, who died in summer 2019, aged seven. He grew up playing in the grounds of Ardington, so we have created Alfstock to reflect his joyful and fun-loving nature.
Alfstock is a charity event raising money for Angel Child – in conjunction with The Brain Tumour Charity – to fund new research into paediatric brain tumours, pushing towards more successful, safer, kinder treatments for brain cancer and improved prognoses and life expectancy. Together with The Brain Tumour Charity, Angel Child has chosen to raise funds for a ground-breaking new research project led by Professor Richard Gilbertson, a paediatric oncology clinician and the Director of the Cambridge Cancer Centre at Cambridge University, which will cost £1.44m over the next four years.
Underbelly is raising funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, a registered charity with Registered Charity number 1150054 (England and Wales) SC045081 (Scotland).
All ticket income less the cost of putting on the event will go to the Angel Child fund at The Brain Tumour Charity, which is raising money for a specific paediatric brain tumour research project.
